Question by incubuscsg: Can you install any app on an Android device?
I just read an article saying how Google had taken all Tetris-style games off of the Android store. I was considering buying an Android phone in the future and thought that Android was different in that you could install any application unlike the iPhone app store. Did Google just remove it from their store, and people are still able to install it if they can download it from other locations? Or I guess what I am asking, is to get an application on Android does it have to come from the Android store? Or could I make my own program and distribute it to all my friends without having to go through some Android app approval process.

You can make your own app and give it to people as you can install apps from an outside source.

If you know how to write apps, you could definitely install it on your phone by yourself- similarly, if you found a leaked Tetris app online, you could download the file and install it..

You should be able to go to settings > applications > then find it in the list and uninstall it.
